• I strive to make my practice a space all humans feel safe in. This includes feeling safe enough to speak up, set boundaries, and to say no if needed.

I am here to support you with any accessibility needs you may require. This may include wearing your Oodie to sessions, having plushies nearby, not feeling pressure to make eye contact, drawing, using fidgets, taking breaks, communicating in writing, having your video off some days, having a pet nearby, and anything else that makes you feel supported.

I encourage you to let me know what your accessibility needs may be, and I'll work with you to ensure your needs are met to the best of my abilities throughout our work together. If you don't know what accessibility looks like for you, this is something we can explore together in sessions if you'd like.

  • Inclusivity is about accepting the client (you) exactly as you are, and acknowledging the many aspects of your identity that influence how you interact with the world and how the world interacts with you. I practice cultural humility, ask questions to better understand, and am always learning and growing. I'm open to feedback and believe taking accountability and educating myself is an essential part of being a psychologist, and of being human.

I recognise the privilege I hold as a white, American, health care practitioner who has had the ability to attend higher education and training.

I am inclusive of the many things that make us humans, including but not limited to the following aspects of identity, disabilities, values, and life practices:

    • LGBTQIA+ folks

    • Disabled folks

    • Neurodivergent humans

    • Trauma survivors

    • Those with chronic illness (POTS, EDS, long covid, CFS, fibro, etc.)

    • Fat / bigger bodied folks (I believe in Health At Every Size)

    • Humans from diverse racial and ethnic backgrounds

    • Diverse religions (including those who aren't religious)

    • I am kink, polyamory, non-monogamous, and diverse relationship style friendly

    • Sex positive and sex worker friendly

    • All socioeconomic statuses / class privileges

  • It depends on what you want from therapy!

Do you like shorter, regular, sessions, where you can discuss one to a few topics and leave feeling a bit lighter? 50-minute sessions may be your best bet.

Do you want to really dive into one or two topics, leaving enough time for a long emotional regulation / grounding experience towards the end of session? Have you ever left therapy and thought "darn, I had so much more to talk about!" 75 or 90-minute sessions may be the best fit for you!

Even if you choose one session length, we can discuss changing to the other length at any time throughout therapy. This includes having one-off extended sessions when you need a bit more support.

  • Time management is something I’m working on (thanks time blindness!). As the clinician, I am responsible for time keeping, and this is not your responsibility to worry about (e.g. you would never be charged extra if we run a few minutes over).

However, I do everything I am able to ensure we end promptly at our 50 or 75 minute end time. This is to ensure predictability and routine in both of our schedules. It’s also because there is SO much background work that goes into those 10 minutes between sessions.

I spend that time doing clinical admin work relevant to you! This includes writing emails, note taking, sending out additional questionnaires, session prep for our next session, additional research, and more. Sometimes, I also need to do human things, such as getting a drink of water, taking a movement break, or taking my dog out.

  • If you're late to session, I will send you a message via my practice management system, Halaxy, 5 minutes into your appointment.

If you are 10 minutes late, I will give you a call via a private number.

At the 15 minute mark if I have not received communication from you, I will consider your appointment to be a last minute cancellation, and you will be responsible for paying the full session fee. This is not to "punish" you in any way for forgetting or being unable to attend your appointment last-minute; rather, it is a way I maintain my boundaries.

*Please note, I won't judge you for forgetting / missing your appointment; things happen!

*Please also note that if you are late to session, your Medicare rebate will be lower. There are different item codes for a 50 minute session, and a session between 20-50 minutes.

  • When we first start working together, I recommend weekly or fortnightly appointments, so we can begin to build our therapeutic relationship and so I can better understand your therapy needs/goals.

I typically schedule clients into a regular day, time, and frequency of sessions. This may be weekly, fortnightly, or monthly. For example, if you want fortnightly sessions, we may agree on appointments scheduled at 10:30am every other Tuesday.

I enjoy having clients in specific "spots" and frequencies as it's easier for my brain to determine my current availability when my calendar is neatly arranged. I also find it's easier for clients to remember a regular appointment time.

I do on occasion see clients who can only book in on an ad hoc basis, due to varying capacity levels, unpredictable work schedules, etc. In these instances, I will do everything I can to fit you in when I have availability. However, I may only be able to offer last-minute cancellation spots if you do not hold a regular session slot.

  • Yep! You get an email when you book in an appointment, confirming your appointment and providing you with the Zoom link. Then, you'll get an email reminder with the Zoom link 5 days before our session, and a text message 2 days before. If you find you're unable to attend the session, please let me know as soon as possible to avoid a cancellation fee.

  • Although I practice from NSW, I can see clients anywhere throughout Australia! I am in AEDT/Sydney time zone. If you are in a different time zone, please make sure you note this so I can offer you appointment times in your time zone.

    • NDIS self-managed

    • NDIS plan-managed

    • Private Health Funds

    • Privately paying clients (not getting a rebate or utilising NDIS funds)

  • Whenever possible, I prefer email communication, or communication within our sessions.

If there is a genuine therapeutic need for a phone call, this can be arranged with me via email, and I will give you a call via a private number.

If you need to do phone call appointments instead of Zoom appointments, that can also be arranged.
